Latoya found out about the position through word of mouth and the local newspaper. She then completed the application kit and was asked to come in for an interview.
Latoya loves the community involvement her job provides. She also enjoys meeting new people, dealing with indigenous people and the flexibility her job offers.
Latoya has been able to continue her studies whilst employed – she’s now been at Darumbal Community Youth Service fulltime for 5 months.
In her role, Latoya encourages physical activity amongst the community, which promotes a healthy lifestyle and decreases the likelihood of illness.
Latoya would like to be promoted to Program Coordinator and gain her Bachelor in Health Promotion.
