Facilitate co-operative behaviour

Introduction

As a community worker it is likely that you will experience situations where clients display challenging and even aggressive behaviour. The agency you work with will have policies and procedures for dealing with conflict and violence which you need to be familiar with to ensure the safety of all involved.

You will also need to learn and develop skills to handle conflict situations to prevent the escalation of violence. If violence does occur, there are basic tips that will help you to protect yourself and others.
